Climate Finance Readiness study in Tanzania

Dear Members and Partners,

The UNDP in partnership with OneWorld have undertaken Climate Finance Readiness study in Tanzania through “Experiences from Eastern and Southern Africa Project” with the aim of assisting six African countries to access climate change finance from various windows at the international level.

Readiness for Climate Finance was launched in Warsaw in November 2013 covering six countries in the Eastern and Southern regions of Africa namely Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia, Lesotho and Mozambique. It involved in-depth analysis and field work, coupled with benchmarking against related initiatives and progress in other developing countries.

UNDP and ForumCC prepared a roundtable meeting yesterday (24th June 2014) as a follow-up to a similar event held in February 2014 where the preliminary findings from Tanzania case study were presented and discussed. The aim was to share the final findings and solicit comments and inputs from potential stakeholders before the study report is finalized.

As stakeholders on climate change, please go through the attached Draft Report and provide your comments and inputs which ForumCC will submit to UNDP to finalize the report.

Looking forward to receive your comments and inputs through e-mail admin@forumcc.org
